CLFA’s 2023 Community Convening: Domestic Violence

Centro La Familia’s upcoming “Community Convening: Conversations Not Heard” explores the issue of domestic violence and how the response to it is impacted by individuals’ unique social and cultural norms. We welcome you to join us for this informative event to develop a deeper understanding and awareness surrounding domestic violence.

This year’s convening will feature Santa Molina-Marshall, Licensed Clinical Holistic Psychotherapist and Certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, as keynote speaker. Molina-Marshall has been in the anti-violence movement for over three decades, including eight years as the Director of Counseling and one year as interim Executive Director at the DC Rape Crisis Center. She now manages her private practice in Washington, D.C., and is a national and international speaker on women, trauma, mindfulness, grief and loss, compassion fatigue, neurobiology of trauma, and more.

The three-hour event will also feature two panels – one composed of local victim advocates, and one composed of local experts – with participants to be announced at a later time. The event will begin at 9 a.m., with a full breakfast being provided to attendees starting at 8 a.m.
