This year’s convening will focus on the impact of traumatic experiences and factors on children and youth, covering topics that include the uncertainties faced by a non-citizen youth, child abuse, special juvenile immigrant status, Sexual Orientation Gender Identity Expression (SOGIE) foster youth, and the juvenile behavioral court.
Through this event, CLFA seeks to raise awareness and understanding on how to identify and serve children and youth victims/survivors through a collection of professional and cultural perspectives.
The event will feature Keynote speaker, Dr. Iran Barrera PhD., LCSW, Latino Health Ambassador who be discussing the lessons learned from working with the Latino population, with regards to how mainstream evidence based practices are not always the best approach.
