For more than 45 years, Centro La Familia Advocacy Services (CLFA) has worked with low-income families throughout Fresno County to empower them to become self-sufficient. CLFA’s services include victim advocacy, human trafficking case management services, health insurance enrollment, and immigration services in English, Spanish, and Hmong throughout rural and urban areas of Fresno County.
“What began as a Fresno State student project forty-five years ago, has grown into a critically important non-profit agency that helps tens of thousands of clients every year,” said Assemblymember Arambula. “Centro La Familia’s dedication to ensuring that these services reach all families, regardless of language, economic, transportation, and technology barriers is creating tangible, generational change.”
Every year, Centro La Familia serves more than 10,000 clients and reaches more than 100,000 community members through outreach and educational programs, presentations, workshops, and special and multi-media events. Centro La Familia’s Executive Director Margarita A. Rocha, has led the non-profit for more than 25 years in collaboration with an all-volunteer board of directors and a staff of forty.
Centro La Familia is honored and humbled for this recognition and will keep working arduously to serve the families of Fresno County.
