Community Happenings

CLFA’s 2018 Community Convening: Conversations Not Heard

This year’s convening will focus on the impact of traumatic experiences and factors on children and youth, covering topics that include the uncertainties faced by a non-citizen youth, child abuse, special juvenile immigrant status, Sexual Orientation Gender Identity Expression (SOGIE) foster youth, and the juvenile behavioral court.

Through this event, CLFA seeks to raise awareness and understanding on how to identify and serve children and youth victims/survivors through a collection of professional and cultural perspectives.

The event will feature Keynote speaker, Dr. Iran Barrera PhD., LCSW, Latino Health Ambassador who be discussing the lessons learned from working with the Latino population, with regards to how mainstream evidence based practices are not always the best approach.

Let’s Fiesta the Night Away!

Centro La Familia Advocacy Services (CLFA) is hosting its 26th annual fundraiser with great live music, delicious hors d’oeuvres, a no-host bar, live and silent auctions, and a drawing. Our goal is to raise funds for our programs, enabling us to continue providing services to underserved children and families in Fresno County, while showcasing the accomplishments we have had in the community throughout the year.

Fiesta Night is a great opportunity for professionals and community members to network in a comfortable environment and dance the evening away while being surrounded by beautiful Latino décor. Last year, we received more than 450 attendees with gracious support from organizations like yours.

With your support, we can make our 2017 Fiesta Night a success! We invite you to become a sponsor, place an advertisement in our program, make a monetary donation, purchase a table, or donate to our auction and raffle. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us by phone at 559-237-2961 or email
